After about 14 months of keeping this blog, today marks it's one-hundreth post. In this relatively small space of time I've fallen in love with several artists, and come to appreciate many more. Here's a selection from the last few months:
And to celebrate Car Boot Vinyl Diaries' century, here are 100 songs by the Fabs in five minutes:

Car Boot Vinyl Diaries - one year on.
I was busy making a mosaic of record covers from the last few month's finds when it dawned on me that it's been a whole year since Car Boot Vinyl Diaries began. On July 3rd last, in the afternoon following a morning of car boot vinyl-hunting, I decided on a whim to start making a record of what I'd found and what I'd paid for the ever-growing stash of vinyl albums and twelve-inch's that was accumulating from the car boot sales and charity shops that I'd haunt in search of new old music. Inspired by my big sis Vicki it took the form of a blogspot site.
Over the months the number of posts has grown alarmingly and I've learned how to make and post videos, crop photos (very basic, I know - see early posts for awful photos!) and embed YouTube videos and Spotify playlists. For a technophobe like me this has been enormously satisfying as well as loads of fun.
I hope to keep going as long as I can, and would like to thank all viewers both regular and random. Keep your comments and emails coming and cross your fingers for good weather every Sunday, for this is the day the British go car-booting!

Blow By Blow
Former Yardbird Jeff Beck released his seventh album (and first under just his own name), Blow By Blow, in 1975. I picked up a copy at a car boot sale just before Christmas for £3:
His first instrumental release, it's an energetic jazz fusion album featuring contributions from Stevie Wonder and long-time collaborator Max Middleton, as well as a reworking of Lennon and McCartney's "She's A Woman". Wonder plays clavinet on his song "Thelonius" and George Martin produced the album as a whole.

Blow By Blow reached no.4 on the US Billboard album chart.
This album was among the last of the car boot vinyl I picked up in 2011, on a very chilly Sunday a week before Christmas. The boot sales I went to during the autumn and winter threw up a pretty good selection of vinyl and I'm looking forward to getting back out there in the spring and trawling through some more boxes of dusty old records! Here's a selection from the last few months:

It Was A Very Good Year...
Inspired by Vintage Vicki I've been playing with Mosaic Maker and have created a mosaic of just some of the records I've found at car boot sales and charity shops this year.
It's been a good one!
